The BVA content platforms are designed to be accessible and supportive for all learners. They include a variety of embedded tools such as text-to-speech, which reads content aloud to help with comprehension, and translation services to assist students who may need support in their native language. A highlight bar helps students focus on key sections of text, while vocabulary tools provide easy access to definitions, helping to expand understanding and improve language skills. These features work together to create a more inclusive and supportive learning experience for every student. 

Our certified teachers are the heart of our program, offering not only academic guidance but also personal support to foster strong, lasting connections with students. Whether students need help with assignments, clarification on a concept, or simply a check-in, our teachers are easily accessible via email, phone, or the virtual office.  

In addition to live support, teachers have created a library of on-demand video resources that students can access anytime for extra guidance or review. This carefully crafted combination of personal connection and flexible learning tools shows our teachers’ deep commitment to student success. 

Student Advisors work one-on-one with students to track progress, manage workloads, and create personalized learning plans. Most importantly, they help students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed at BVA. Advisors provide consistent support and encouragement, helping students stay motivated, navigate challenges, and grow into independent learners. Their guidance is a key part of each student’s academic and personal success. 

Daily WIN (What I Need) Time offers the place to go when elementary students (K-5) need one-on-one help from their teacher. Whether it’s asking questions, requesting an assignment to be reopened for better success, or needing a quiet workspace in a breakout room, WIN Time ensures students get the support they need. It also provides teachers the opportunity to connect with families when appropriate, offering personalized attention for each child. 

The Virtual Office provides middle and high school students with dedicated one-on-one support in a way that suits their level of comfort. Students can choose to interact with their teachers through onscreen discussions, chat-based conversations, or even sharing a screen and working through problems together using a virtual whiteboard. This flexibility helps students feel more at ease in advocating for themselves, building confidence in asking questions and seeking the help they need to succeed. It’s a resource designed to empower students to take an active role in their learning while ensuring they have the support to stay on track. 

• Elementary Learning Pathways: We are excited to have implemented My Math Academy® and My Reading Academy™, two adaptive, research-based programs designed to meet the unique needs of pre-K through 5th grade students. These programs assess each child’s current skills and provide personalized pathways to help them grow, building confidence in both math and reading at their own pace. 

• ELL (English Language Learners): Our Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) is designed to help limited English proficient (LEP) students succeed academically while learning English. The program offers personalized instruction tailored to each student’s English language proficiency level, assessed through criteria in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Our ESL specialists work closely with general education teachers to monitor progress and collaborate on effective strategies, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive. 

• Guided Study Program: Our Guided Study Program is designed for students who may need extra support navigating the freedom of online learning. Through this program, students work alongside teachers and advisors to create a personalized schedule that helps them develop strong time management and study habits. As they progress, students gain the skills and confidence needed to take ownership of their learning, gradually reducing their reliance on required check-ins. With ongoing support, students build the self-discipline and independence to manage their academic responsibilities effectively and access teacher support as needed. 

• Secondary Resource Room: The BVA resource room is a specialized virtual learning environment designed to provide additional support and services for students with special educational needs. It combines live academic support with fun, interactive social skills training, creating an environment where students can really thrive. A certified special education teacher offers personalized daily lessons, helping students build study skills and time management so they can work more independently. The program also includes social skills activities to help students improve their ability to communicate and work with others. This well-rounded approach gives students the support they need to feel more confident in their learning while also developing important life skills that will help them succeed in school and beyond.
