Engaging online learning
At BVA, we customize and enhance our programs to meet and exceed the Pennsylvania Core Standards. BVA provides elementary school students with frequent live instruction to support their need for more immediate attention and feedback in learning. Students learn together four days a week in their core subjects. Students requiring additional academic support in reading or math may have additional live classes with teachers or specialists.
We Are Relationally DrivenAt Brandywine Virtual Academy, we recognize the importance of teachers and students consistently connecting and building the essential relationships that typically develop in a traditional, face-to-face classroom setting. Our program is designed to facilitate these connections through live instructional sessions, one-on-one help, and engaging social activities that foster a vibrant online learning community. We aim for our teachers to truly know their students, and for students to become acquainted with their classmates and collaborate daily.
Students start the day with a Morning Meeting. To lay the groundwork for daily success, students meet with their teachers for a morning meeting to check in and to plan their day before starting their lessons. Students Participate in a Program Model that meets their needs.
To meet the needs of all families, our K-5 has three program models to choose from:

Synchronous Instruction provides our K-5 students with frequent live instruction to support their need for more immediate attention and feedback in learning. Within the elementary program, students learn together 4 days per week in their core subjects. Students requiring additional academic support in reading or math may have additional live classes with teachers or specialists.

Asynchronous Instruction provides our K-5 students with flexibility and autonomy to learn at their own pace in the online courses with teacher support available as needed.

Our Hybrid program option includes a customized course schedule with both live and self-paced options to meet students' academic needs.
Students Are Engaged In Learning Through our Curriculum and Instruction At Brandywine Virtual Academy, we leverage a diverse array of curriculum and instructional tools to captivate and engage our learners. Our interactive lessons incorporate multimedia resources, such as videos and simulations, to enhance understanding and retention. Collaborative tools, including discussions and group projects, encourage active participation and peer interaction. Grounded in research-based practices, our comprehensive approach ensures that our teaching methods are effective, up-to-date, and provide a dynamic online learning experience.
