Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We strive to comply with best practices and standards as defined by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and level Double-A (AA) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, which explain how to make website content more accessible for people with all abilities. The CCIU uses SiteImprove, a W3C compliant validation product, to monitor compliancy to WCAG guidelines, and we continually seek solutions that will bring all areas of the website to the same level of web accessibility. Accessibility Features The CCIU’s website includes a variety of accessibility features, such as: • Alternate text for images • Closed captioning for videos • Accurate description for linked text • ADA compliant PDFs • Appropriate color contrast between text and background elements • Logical tabbing sequence for keyboard-driven navigation While the CCIU strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. Should you experience any difficulty accessing our website, please contact us here.
